The second day of the Milano Running Festival presented by Sky Wifi, the four-day sports event linked to the Wizz Air Milano Marathon scheduled for Sunday, April 6, organized by RCS Sports & Events – RCS Active Team, concluded today.
Among today’s highlights were the presentation of the 42.195 km route and that of the elite athletes, with a top-level starting field.
For the men, Raymond Choge (Kenya), second place finisher at last year’s Wizz Air Milano Marathon with a Personal Best of 2h07:34, returns with a clear ambition to reach the top step of the podium. Kenyans Abraham Kiptoo (2h05:04) and Bethwel Yegon (2h06:14), along with Ethiopian Fikre Tefera (2h06:16), appear to be a notch above the rest on paper. Milan will also mark the marathon debut of Eritrean Aaron Kifle, already U20 World Champion over 10,000 meters and bronze medalist at the World Half Marathon Championships in Valencia.
A lot of curiosity surrounds Isaac Kipkemboi Too (Kenya), who was runner-up at the Buenos Aires Marathon last September and among the top ten at the last Milano Marathon, and is reportedly in good shape. Bygon Kiprono (Kenya), fourth at the Abu Dhabi Marathon last December with a 2h07:22 (PB), could be a dark horse.

In the women’s field, strong times are expected. Ethiopian training partners Haftamesh Tesfay (personal best of 2h20:13) and Shure Demise (2h20:59) are expected to play key roles. Rediet Molla (Ethiopia, 2h26:25) is said to be in excellent form, as is fellow Ethiopian Mekuria Alamirew, who clocked 2h26:49 last January at the Dubai Marathon and could be a luxury outsider.

Tomorrow in City Life it’s time for the Levissima Family Run, a 3 km run open to all families, starting from Via Arona and finishing at the Velodromo Vigorelli. A format created 8 years ago in collaboration with OPES – Organizzazione per l’Educazione allo Sport. (The various editions have seen 54,000 total participants, with 8,000 expected again for this ninth edition.)

Inside the Velodrome, participants will find tons of activities to try at the exhibitors’ stands. You’ll be able to explore sports from rugby to American football—where teamwork is key—have fun with handball through throws, passes, and goal attempts, or try rowing using the rowing machines provided for the public. You can also try high jump, pole vault, or vortex throwing thanks to the coaches from Atletica Meneghina. The first wave of runners will start at 9:00 a.m.
As always, half of the registration fee will be returned in the form of sports equipment to the school chosen by the participant at the time of registration. Alternatively—new in 2025—the same amount may be donated to SSD L’ORMA to support the COACH DI QUARTIERE project (coachdiquartiere.it): a sport welfare initiative dedicated to the community, offering free outdoor or indoor games and sports for children aged 6 to 11.
Levissima is the Title Partner of the Family Run, celebrating its tenth consecutive year as Official Mineral Water and Green Partner of the Wizz Air Milano Marathon.
This milestone confirms the constant commitment of the Sanpellegrino Group, of which it is a part, to support events that combine sports, sustainability, and charity, while also caring for the local territory. The partner does not just support Saturday’s run but actively works to give back to the community and ecosystems in which it operates, promoting concrete initiatives for the environment and collective well-being—from protecting nature and biodiversity to fostering conscious participation that promotes the circular economy.
When it comes to sustainability, many of the Marathon’s partners are sensitive and attentive to this theme. Starting with Wizz Air, title sponsor of the 42 km race in Milan, which has long been committed to sustainable aviation practices through the use of fuel-efficient aircraft and investments aimed at reducing environmental impact and CO₂ emissions—as well as numerous organizations involved in the Charity Program. HUMANA, for instance, a new addition to the major solidarity initiative, funds and implements projects in the Global South and contributes to environmental protection through the collection, sale, and donation of used clothing: during the days of the Milano Running Festival and on Sunday, it will conduct a special collection of clothes, shoes, and accessories at various points along the route. Unexchanged items will be sorted into HUMANA’s supply chain to fund projects in Italy and around the world.
On Saturday afternoon, from the MiCo Terrace, it’s time for the much-awaited third edition of the Arcaplanet Dog Run,, the 2 km walk-run dedicated to dogs and their human friends (or pet parents). An event format designed to celebrate the joy of spending time with your pet while doing physical activity. The format will also include the Puppy Run, dedicated exclusively to puppies. The start is at 3:00 p.m.!

Sky Sport 24, the official broadcaster of the event, will also be present tomorrow, dedicating wide coverage in its programming to the stars, the runners, and the crowd.
Meanwhile, RTL 102.5, Italy’s leading radiovision station, will provide live coverage, interviews with key figures, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content, bringing listeners along to experience every moment of the marathon. There will also be constant updates in the hourly news bulletins, with the latest results and athlete performances.
The Milano Running Festival presented by Sky Wifi will be open tomorrow (Saturday) from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Free entry from Viale Eginardo 2 (Gate 2) and Gate 1 – Park.
THE MARATHON RACE ROUTE: 42.195 KM
Start and finish are confirmed in the heart of the city, in Piazza del Duomo. A looped route that ensures speed and smoothness for the Milan marathon course. About 16 kilometers will take place in the city center in the early part of the course (Cairoli, Conciliazione, and Pagano), after which, leaving the City Life area, the route continues toward Monte Stella, the Hippodrome, San Siro, and Parco di Trenno. From the 28th kilometer, the course begins to return toward the center, passing through Parco del Portello and entering Corso Sempione, reaching Arena Civica, Moscova, Brera, Montenapoleone, and San Babila. These symbolic places of Milan meet the needs of both elite and amateur runners, while offering the chance to admire a city that is increasingly beautiful in its mix of historic and modern elements. The start is at 8:30 a.m.!
The relay race is different. The UniCredit Relay Marathon runners will also start from Piazza del Duomo but finish on Via Palestro. Near the finish line—corner of Via Marina—there will also be the Charity Village. Here are the exchange points along the route:
- Conciliazione-Pagano
- Lotto (Via Caprilli)
- Uruguay
The start is at 9:00 a.m.!
