For over 60 years, the Fondazione AIRC has consistently supported the best scientific research to make cancer increasingly curable. It does so thanks to the contributions of millions of supporters, funding innovative projects and promoting a culture of prevention and health.
Founded in 1965, when cancer was still a taboo, AIRC is today a benchmark for oncology research in Italy and a large community working every day to improve treatments and people’s quality of life. We fund excellent studies and support emerging research talent, with a clear goal: to transform scientific findings into increasingly effective treatments.

Every kilometer run will contribute concretely to the work of AIRC researchers in laboratories throughout Italy. For 2027, we have an important goal: to fund a yearly AIRC Start-Up Grant of €150,000, dedicated to young scientists and innovative research projects.
