Fondazione G. e D. De Marchi ETS
For over 40 years, Fondazione G. e D. De Marchi ETS has stood by the children receiving care at the Clinica Pediatrica De Marchi of the Policlinico Hospital in Milan. Its mission is to ensure the best social and healthcare assistance through the renovation of spaces and hospital wards, the purchase of scientific equipment, the promotion of research, and the funding of scholarships for doctors, healthcare professionals, psychologists, and art therapists. To improve the quality of life for young patients and offer them moments of joy and peace, Fondazione De Marchi organizes assisted holidays, pet therapy activities in collaboration with the dogs of SICS – the Italian School for Rescue Dogs – and art therapy sessions. The Foundation also ensures a constant presence of volunteers in the emergency room and hospital wards, provides valuable support to families (including financial aid for those in need), and offers psychological support to children, their relatives, and medical staff.
In the past two years, Fondazione De Marchi has committed to creating The Most Beautiful Pediatric Ward in the World — a major project to humanize pediatric spaces inside the Nuovo Policlinico of Milan, providing a completely redesigned ward with child-friendly, welcoming environments.
Among the various initiatives to support the children treated at the Clinica Pediatrica De Marchi, every year Fondazione De Marchi organizes special ASSISTED HOLIDAYS: day trips to places like the Gardaland amusement park and snowboarding days at Piani di Bobbio, a weekend in Liguria with daytime sailing cruises, and a full week by the sea in Tuscany at the Garden Resort in San Vincenzo.
Always accompanied by doctors, nurses, volunteers, and our art therapist, the ASSISTED HOLIDAYS give about thirty young patients, especially from the Day Hospital, the chance to enjoy joyful experiences to share with other children and receive the care they need.
Thanks to the support of various partners, the Foundation has been covering all organizational and accommodation costs for the children, the medical staff, and volunteers, many of whom even give up part of their own holiday time to take part and support the kids.
By running the Milano Marathon alongside Fondazione G. e D. De Marchi, we’ll keep giving young patients unforgettable moments of joy, fun and safe holidays, while also offering their families the opportunity to rest and recharge.
