WHO WE ARE
Janghi is an association that, for over ten years, has been working in Dakar to ensure education, healthcare, and protection for the most vulnerable children.
Over the years, we have helped more than 500 children and young people escape street life, forced labor, begging, and the limits of a purely religious and mnemonic education breaking the cycle of poverty. We have done this by putting listening at the center of our work, because often it’s the children themselves who knock on our door and ask: “Can I go to school too?”
Many times, our first challenge is convincing families — that education is invaluable, that freedom is a powerful tool for their children’s future. We do it every day, with respect for local culture, courage from the kids and volunteers, and the love of all those who choose to join the project.
Today, Janghi is a community. It’s a school, a safe space, a hot meal, a medical visit, a team walking together towards the future.
THE PROJECT: WIZZ AIR MILANO MARATHON 2026
This year, we’re once again taking part in the Wizz Air Milano Marathon as a Charity Partner, raising funds to support children’s right to quality, inclusive, secular education. With your run, you can make a difference.
Every year, we receive over 200 requests from children and young people who want to join the Janghi program in Dakar. Unfortunately, we can’t welcome them all.
With the Wizz Air Milano Marathon 2026, we want to say “yes” to as many children as possible.
Fundraising goal: €6,000
This amount will allow us to guarantee a full year of school, breakfast, hygiene and health support for 21 children.
What it takes for one child, for one year: €280
- €190 covers school-related expenses: enrollment, materials, teacher support, transportation, and after-school activities.
- €90 covers basic services: daily breakfast, hygiene products, medical visits, recreational activities (such as sports or museum visits), and access to “Keur Janghi” – Janghi’s home – where a child can feel safe, cared for, and welcomed at any time.
