Ready, Study, Go!
Still I Rise is an independent humanitarian organization that, since 2018, has been providing outstanding education to refugee and vulnerable children around the world.
Why do we do it?
We believe that excellent education is the key to building a better world for everyone. Yet today, only 0.1% of children and young people worldwide have access to it. That’s why we work every day to democratize elite education, so it can become accessible and free for all. We began by offering it to the most vulnerable.
We adopt two different educational approaches, depending on the contexts we operate in. In Syria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Yemen, we run our Emergency and Rehabilitation Schools, called Academies. Here, we provide a free accelerated learning program designed to help out-of-school children catch up on their lost school years and reintegrate into formal education. To make this possible, we first address their most basic needs – such as food, hygiene, child protection, and psychosocial support – to ensure the survival and well-being of each child and their family.
In politically more stable countries, such as Kenya and Colombia, we operate through our International Schools. We are the first non-profit organization in the world to offer the International Baccalaureate curriculum free of charge to refugee and vulnerable children. Our Schools are where we nurture the leaders of tomorrow, those who will one day bring meaningful change to their lives and their communities.
To date, we have reached more than 70,000 people worldwide, including students, teachers, and families. But our work doesn’t stop here. We are currently building a new Emergency School in South Sudan, an International School in India, and we are preparing to open soon in Italy as well.
Join us! With your support, we don’t just build free, high-quality Schools: we also create sports facilities and equip them with essential resources. These are vital spaces for inclusion, where every student can discover their potential, cultivate physical and mental well-being, develop crucial social skills, and take an active role in school life.
Run for Still I Rise: thank you!
