The Cena del Martedì is where it all began. Back in 1968, a group of friends decided to invite a few lonely people in nerd to dinner but to build real connections based on listening and friendship. From that simple yet revolutionary gesture, Cena dell’Amicizia was born.
Today, every Tuesday, around 80 people gather around our table: volunteers and guests, each with their own story, hopes, and challenges. The Cena del Martedì isn’t a just a dinner it’s a moment of care. A place where food, words, smiles, and kindness are shared freely. Here, no one gives and no one receives, we simply meet, as peers, in friendship.
Our hands may have limits — our hearts don’t.
In Milan, more than 2.300 people live without a home. Many have lost their job, their family, or their health. Even for those who work, too often it’s still not enough to cover the basic needs.
For over 55 years, Cena dell’Amicizia Odv has been by their side, running 3 shelters, 22 supported apartments, and, every week, our beloved Tuesday Dinner.
Our goal is simple: to help people rebuild their lives, step by step finding again stability, confidence, and hope.
Now, we’re running together for friendship, for dignity, for change.
