BUILD JOY 2026 WITH US
The JOY summer project by Sport Senza Frontiere, active since 2017, offers hundreds of children living in socially and economically disadvantaged conditions the chance to enjoy a nature-filled, sport-packed vacation each year. But that’s not all: the JOYPOINTS, or Summer Centers in the cities of Bari, Naples, Rome, Milan, Turin, Novara… WILL DOUBLE THIS YEAR. There will be more Summer Camps in the cities to ensure that children who cannot afford a holiday get at least two weeks of sports and fun.
Donate a summer of sports to those who can’t afford a vacation. DONATE JOY!
As we know, the summer period has become a SOCIAL EMERGENCY for many families. A time that should be filled with relaxation, fun, and opportunities for travel and new experiences is, in reality, a source of worry for many. In Italy, socio-economic and educational poverty is on the rise, and fewer and fewer families can afford the extra costs of summer holidays for their children — especially the most vulnerable ones.
This is why JOY was created: to offer hundreds of children from difficult backgrounds free access to Summer Camps (Joy Points) in cities like Bari, Naples, Rome, Milan, Turin, and Novara; to residential Summer Camps in Terminillo (Rieti), Bormio, Clusone, and Ostia (Rome); and to weekend trips in nature — to the mountain, lake, or sea (Joy Nature).
RUN FOR US, RUN FOR JOY
JOY is a project that aims to respond to crisis situations affecting children. It began in the summer of 2017, welcoming 250 children and youth affected by the earthquake in Central Italy to its Summer Camps. Since then, it has continued to stand by children in emergencies, involving them in a variety of summer activities that bring hope, social connection, confidence, and support into their lives.
Since 2018, JOY has welcomed children affected by the collapse of the Morandi Bridge, Syrian minors from humanitarian corridors, helped youth recover from the trauma of the Covid lockdown, and since 2022 has supported young refugees from Ukraine.
But JOY is a project open to all children and youth, with a vision of true social inclusion.
