Since 1964, Lega del Filo d’Oro has been a reference in Italy for people who are deafblind and have multiple psychosensory disabilities.
A thread of hope that unites all of Italy, present in 12 regions where it carries out its assistance, education, and rehabilitation activities for people who are deafblind and have multiple psychosensory disabilities.
Achievements, autonomy, growth, empowerment: these are the chapters of all the extraordinary stories of courage and hope that are born every day at Lega del Filo d’Oro.
The foundation’s structure is a network capable of uniting and coordinating activities and services across the territory, with the well-being and uniqueness of those who live it as its goal.
We welcome and support people who are deafblind and have multiple psychosensory disabilities, offering assistance, therapies, and personalized educational programs that promote independence and quality of life.
Each guest is guided through their personalized journey by interdisciplinary teams, capable of maximizing every remaining ability to ensure greater independence and a better quality of life. Because each person has different abilities and challenges, after a thorough functional assessment, we develop a highly specific and personalized program each time. This includes sensory rehabilitation activities and the development of motor, cognitive, communication, and social skills, thus guiding the person with disabilities toward social inclusion.
We involve the family in this process, providing active support in their rehabilitation. After the initial confusion of facing such a complex disability, families find in the professionalism, presence, and humanity within Lega del Filo d’Oro – to help them find the right direction together toward a new life project. We are at their side, ensuring that no one feels alone on this journey, and we work every day to raise awareness and build a more inclusive community.

The child will never be able to go to school.” When born, a deafblind child with severe disabilities seems destined to live only with “no” as an answer. For us, there are no limits, only possibilities: that’s why we create a personalized program for each of our guests, transforming any residual sensory experience into opportunities for a better, more dignified life, in touch with the world. Together with our interdisciplinary team, our children gain important independence day after day, gradually integrating into society. With skills, dedication, and generosity, we transform many “no” into a world of “yes.”
