FONDAZIONE BRACCO E.T.S.

To this day, gender biases and culture barriers persist within the technical-scientific world. As a result, there are significantly less women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) professions. According to a recent article published by the World Economic Forum (2025), based on data from the Global Gender Gap Report 2024, women represent only 28% of the STEM workforce on a global scale, and just 12% of leadership roles in STEM.

To help close this gap , Fondazione Bracco supports and encourages young women’s scientific careers through educational opportunities within the “progettoDiventerò” program.

This year, thanks to the teams running in the Milano Relay Marathon 2026, we will be able to expand our educational offer and add 2 scholarships for the 2025–2026 academic year. These scholarships will support deserving female students pursuing university studies in STEM disciplines.

The scholarships aim to strengthen the presence of women in scientific fields—where female enrollment is still signifcantly low—and to support university students in achieving their career ambitions  in innovation and technology, while reducing the rate of early dropouts.

This initiative is aligned with the “Mind the STEM Gap” Manifesto, etsablished with the objectives of overcoming gender disparities in the STEM world, promoting more inclusive education. The manifesto aims to reduce stereotypes and biases bysupporting the educational community, both at school and at home, with a focus on key areas of development such as language, role models, access to knowledge, and cognitive growth. > Learn more and sign the Manifesto.
