Together Against Gender-Based Violence
Since 1902, Fondazione Asilo Mariuccia (FAM) has been active across Italy with a wide range of projects and services providing support and protection to women and children who are victims of violence.
Run for FAM is an opportunity to run in support of a social cause, to share a collective experience and to become an ambassador for solidarity — individually, with friends, or together with colleagues.
In 2024, over 17600 women who contacted the national helpline 1522 were officially recognised as victims of violence. Among them, 12250 were referred to Anti-Violence Centres, where they can access tailored services designed to offer support after any form of abuse suffered: domestic, sexual, psychological or economic.
In 2024, FAM opened the Ersilia Bronzini Anti-Violence Centre and two safe houses with confidential addresses.
In just one year, thanks to the support of its donor network, Fondazione Asilo Mariuccia welcomed more than 100 women, offering them listening, protection, guidance and pathways towards independence.
But this is not enough.
Fondazione Asilo Mariuccia’s goal for 2026 is to double its capacity to support women who are victims of violence, continuing to accompany them on their journey towards recovery and autonomy.
This commitment will take concrete shape through:
• Strengthening the multidisciplinary team (psychologists, legal advisors, educators);
• Launching new individual pathways for social and employment reintegration;
• Ensuring safe and dignified accommodation for those fleeing dangerous situations.
To achieve this, we need to raise €20000 by the first half of 2026.
