A running-powered celebration at the Milano Running Festival 2026, the village of the Wizz Air Milano Marathon and the UniCredit Relay Marathon, events organized by RCS Sports & Events – RCS Active Team, scheduled for Sunday, April 12.

The second day at Superstudio Maxi, located at 35 Via Moncucco in the Famagosta district, came to a close today. The venue hosts workshops, product presentations, training sessions, interactive areas, children’s activities, and a food court. It is also the official location for race bib and race kit collection for marathon runners, relay participants, and those taking part in tomorrow’s races on April 11.

Among today’s highlights were the presentation of the 42.195 km marathon course and the introduction of the elite athletes, the Top Runners, featuring a high-level field of competitors.

In the men’s field, Kenyan Titus Kimutai Kipkosgei will wear bib number 1 at the Wizz Air Milano Marathon 2026. He won the Milan race in 2024 with a personal best of 2:07:12.

Great expectations are also placed on Ethiopia’s Dinkalem Ayele Adane, who boasts a personal best of 2:06:43 set last January at the Doha Marathon and is reported to be in excellent form. Another name to watch is Kenyan Vitalis Kibiwott, who ran 2:07:14 last December at the Mersin Marathon in Turkey. Amos Kiplagat, winner last year in Linz with a personal best of 2:07:58, is another athlete to keep an eye on. A high-profile outsider could be Kenyan Laban Kiplimo, also said to be in great shape, who will make his true debut in a top-level marathon in Milan after a test race in Southeast Asia last year. Many other strong contenders from the highlands will make the Milan race particularly exciting and tactically open.

Italy’s colors will be represented by Xavier Chevrier from Aosta Valley, a leading figure in Italian mountain running, who has a half marathon personal best of 1:01:47. He has chosen the Wizz Air Milano Marathon to prove himself over the classic marathon distance.

In the women’s race, the field is highlighted by the presence of Kenyan Judith Korir, silver medalist at the Eugene 2022 World Championships, where she also set her personal best of 2:18:20, as well as fellow Kenyan Sharon Cherop, a past winner of the legendary Boston Marathon and a 2:22:28 performer in Berlin.

Ethiopian duo Sifan Melaku Demise and Zewditu Aderaw are considered among the athletes in the best form, both aiming for a fast time.

Their compatriots Iddeessaa Eebbisee Addunyaa (PB 2:26:28), winner in Dublin; Yeshii Kalayu Chekole (PB 2:21:17), winner in Mumbai at the start of 2026; and Sintayehu Tilahun Getahun (PB 2:22:19), runner-up in Milan in 2022, are all strong contenders to consider in the overall race picture.

For Kenya, Agnes Keino (PB 2:22:53) and Lydia Simiyu (PB 2:25:10) could emerge as surprise protagonists of the Wizz Air Milano Marathon 2026.

Everything is also set for tomorrow’s races, on Saturday, which will take place in CityLife.

The Enel Family Run, which has surpassed 9,000 registered participants, will start in the morning from Via Arona at 9:00 a.m. and will finish at the Velodromo Maspes Vigorelli, a landmark venue for sport in Milan. Here, participants will also be able to walk among the exhibitors’ stands and discover other sports disciplines showcased in collaboration with local sports clubs active in the area. As per tradition, half of the registration fee will be returned in the form of sports equipment to the school selected by each participant at the time of registration, or the same amount may be donated to A.S.D. Atletica Meneghina in support of the “Atletica Assieme” social project. Launched in 2018, the initiative aims to strengthen the relational skills of children with intellectual and relational disabilities through athletics and sport in general.

The Arcaplanet Dog Run, a run-walk event of approximately 2 km alongside pet parents, will start in the afternoon at 3:00 p.m. The start and finish will be in Piazza Elsa Morante in CityLife. This is the fourth edition of a successful format that highlights the joy of spending time with one’s pet while engaging in physical activity and having fun.
