BRUT | Outsider Lab
BRUT was born from the shared desire of three professionals to create a workshop dedicated to people with cognitive disabilities, a true Outsider Lab.
In 2021, thanks to the support of Human Value, Proges, and Fondazione Cariplo, the BRUT workshop found a home at Magnete, located at Via Adriano 107, a cutting-edge center for care and culture located in the Adriano Community Center of the Proges social cooperative.
A safe space where those who are welcomed can discover new forms of communication and expression, assisted by a passionate team attentive to bringing out their potential.
This synergistic work allows them to strengthen their self-esteem, emotional sphere, and social skills, using art as a means of expression and self-discovery.
Spontaneous, pure, and authentic art gives life to creative productions that, immune to external influences and far from academic definitions, can be placed within the outsider art universe.
In 2024, the workshop reached a new milestone by becoming an ETS association, enabling it to involve a greater number of professionals, host a larger number of participants and, above all, give the authors a financial contribution for the works sold, which is essential for strengthening their spirit of autonomy/independence, as well as increasing their gratification for the work carried out in the workshop and for their personal research.
