Cancersucks

Cancersucks was born from a marathon itself: the 2014 New York Marathon, which Luca Belloni ran wearing the very first yellow Cancersucks shirt.
He did it to feel “alive” despite the glioblastoma he had been diagnosed with just a few months earlier, but above all to raise funds for the hospital that was treating him.

When Luca passed away, we decided to continue his mission: running to support brain tumor research.

Brain tumors are an extremely complex disease, but thanks to research we are seeing important progress in diagnosis, treatments, and patients’ quality of life. Luca himself was an example of this.

That is why every year we take part in the Relay Milano Marathon Charity Program, filling the city with our yellow shirts worn by relay teams, members, and supporters fundraising for our association.

For the 2027 Milano Marathon, our goal is to raise €60,000.

This year, the funds raised will support the work of two key professionals at Molinette Hospital in Turin:
Dr. Allegra Carpaneto, a neuropsychologist supporting patients throughout their journey, and Dr. Francesco Bruno, a researcher working on brain tumor studies.

And if you would like to run the 2027 Milano Marathon with us, there is only one rule: wear our yellow T-shirt. 💛
